Director of Rowing Programs
Riverfront Recapture is seeking a full-time, year-round Director of Rowing Programs. This individual will direct and develop programming for an established Community Rowing Program with over 650 annual participants. Riverfront Recapture’s Community Rowing Program, based in Hartford, CT, is one of the largest and most successful community rowing programs in New England. Recreational and competitive classes, including the opportunity to compete on nationally recognized racing teams, are offered to everyone from pre-teens to retirees. Riverfront Recapture is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving central Connecticut’s quality of life and urban vitality through cultural events, entertainment, group sports and recreation in a welcoming environment along the banks of the Connecticut River, as well as ongoing efforts to protect and maintain the Riverfront and make more of it accessible to the public.
Individuals interested in the Director of Rowing Programs position will have a minimum five years of experience as a head rowing coach, program director or assistant director. Rowing experience should also include 10+ years combined experience as rower, coaching rowing with demonstrated success in academic or community programs, and or/experience as a program director. It is important to document an ability to direct and manage groups, while respecting safety and time pressures. Applicable US Rowing Coaching certification required.
