Take the stage at lower Mortensen Riverfront Plaza for RiverBarre, taught by instructors from Hartford Sweat. Barre is a total-body-toning workout based on a combination of ballet movement, yoga alignment and Pilates core work. You'll feel the burn with these low-impact body weight exercises that incorporate resistance bands, yoga stretching and controlled breathing. Strengthen and sculpt your body and your mind! Bring water and a yoga mat, and wear sneakers.
WIP Into Shape, Tuesdays, 5:45 - 7 pm, Upper Mortensen Riverfront Plaza
Looking for a different way to work out? Join WIP Fitness on the plaza for free, weekly workouts. Their motivating instructors will show you how to build muscle in this anything but traditional boot camp style class using bands, body weight, and the plaza itself. This class is accessible to all levels. Be sure to bring water.
Yoga Flow on the River, Wednesdays, 5:45 - 7 pm, Upper Mortensen Riverfront Plaza
Join us every Wednesday night to stretch and strengthen your body and mind in this class designed to link movement with breath, allowing you to unwind and connect, taught by instructors from Hartford Sweat. This is a perfect blend of all-levels yoga to music that will clear your mind, exercise and strengthen your body through a series of smooth and calming postures. The grass, the light shade of trees, fresh air and scenic backdrop at make this a perfect setting for a one hour yoga practice that will relax and rejuvenate you for the week. The classes are taught in a Vinyasa style flow of yoga postures suitable for any level of yoga experience, and the instructors are trained to recognize and provide modifications for past injuries or limitations. Please bring water and a yoga mat.

Dance, dance, dance the day away in this one hour heart pumping workout led by instructors from Hartford Sweat. Wear sneakers, and bring water.
June 21, July 19 & August 16, 5:45 - 7 pm, Upper Mortensen Riverfront Plaza
Exercise your body, mind, and spirit during this intense workout from Sudor Taino Group Fitness by Karla Medina. This class combines elements of kickboxing, boot camp, tribal dance and yoga, followed by meditation. Bring a yoga mat.
Suggested donation: $5; proceeds will be used to help us continue to offer classes like these.
