Due to the construction-related road closure of Reserve Road, Charter Oak Landing will be closed to vehicular traffic Friday, October 18 through Monday, October 21. The park will be accessible to pedestrians and bicycles.

Mindful Hike, $15

Leave your phone and the distractions of daily life behind on this quiet, meditative hike where you’ll tap into all five senses and foster a stronger connection with the natural world.
Skyline Canoe Tour, $30, includes canoe & PFD

Review the basics of canoe safety on land before heading out on to Connecticut River for a guided paddle and the best views of Hartford’s skyline. All participants must know how to swim.
Map & Compass Scavenger Hunt, $15

Learn the basics of orienteering & put them to practice on this fun and challenging scavenger hunt through the park and wooded trails.
Hoppy Hike, $25 pp, 21+
Saturday, 10/19, 5 - 7 pm
Take a one-hour guided hike on a beautiful wooded path along the Connecticut River, followed by a flight of Hanging Hills beer on the boathouse porch.
Hartford by Kayak, $30, includes kayak & PFD
Sunday, 10/20, 11 am - 12:30 pm
Review the basics of kayak safety on land before heading out on to Connecticut River for a guided paddle where you’ll learn more about Hartford and the history of the Connecticut River. All participants must know how to swim.
History Hike, $15 pp
Sunday, 10/20, 1 - 2:30 pm
Go over the river, through the woods, and back in time as you learn the history, and mysteries of the Connecticut River.
Birding Basics, $15 pp, includes binoculars
Sunday, 10/20, 3 - 4:30 pm
Have you ever seen a bird and asked yourself, “What is that?” Find the answer to that question and more while learning the basics of bird identification and binoculars while hiking and looking for eagles, red-tailed hawks, kingfishers, sparrows, and more.
Owl Prowl, $15 pp
Sunday, 10/20, 5 - 6:30 pm
Learn how to call for owls while we search for them along our wooded trails. You’ll also learn about the ethics of bird-calling and responsible birding.
