The Riverfront Dragon Boat and Asian Festival celebrates 15 years with a free family friendly event offering a unique celebration of Asian culture highlighted by the exciting sport of dragon boat racing. Festival highlights included authentic Asian music and dance performances, food and merchandise vendors, an Asian beer garden, martial arts expo, arts and crafts for the kids and more.
In 2000, Riverfront Recapture held its 1st Dragon Boat Festival and recruited 30 local teams to compete in a 1-day, community-based race. Since then the Riverfront Dragon Boat & Asian Festival has come a long way, and we are proud to be considered one of the Top 10 Dragon Boat Races in the United States. Last year we hosted a record 93 teams and more than 3,000 athletes from local community organizations and Clubs throughout the Northeast. In addition to dragon boat racing, our expanded 2-day festival offers a variety of live Asian entertainment, abundant ethnic food, martial arts demonstrations, and authentic cultural programming.
Admission to the Asian Festival is FREE. Participation in the dragon boat races is fee-based.
