The success of Riverfront Recapture depends on having dedicated volunteers who fill a number of critical roles, from maintaining landscapes to assisting at our festivals. With four Riverfront parks in two towns, there's always many ways to lend a hand. Volunteer with Riverfront and spend more time in the Riverfront Parks. To register as a group or an individual, or to learn more about volunteering contact Margie, Volunteer Coordinator, by email or at 860.713.3131 x 305.
This year's volunteers shared some few kind words about their experience with Riverfront. We hope they — and you — will join us in the future!
We have tons of possibilities! You can volunteer as an individual, part of a group, with your family—whatever works best for you. And you can spend as much or as little time as you want. Some of our volunteer opportunities include:
Bring your corporate, college, community and youth group to the Riverfront for a day of teambuilding with a park landscaping day consisting of planting, mulching, raking, weeding, pruning, and painting. Or your group may volunteer your services to assist at one of our many concerts and festivals. Promote volunteerism and environmental responsibility, while building employee cohesiveness.
Event volunteers serve in a variety of roles, from marketing tasks to registration coordination, loading participants on boats to survey taking, working with kids, coordinating musical talent, event set up and breakdown, and so much more.
Work with Youth
Lend your talents to volunteer at A Sporting Chance for Youth Day. Youth experience a variety of sports and recreation activities. Help is needed not only to instruct youth but in registration areas as well. There are many fun ways to help us out and help recapture your community spirit—from working on the docks at the Riverfront Dragon Boat & Asian Festival, to making the parks look beautiful at a park clean-up event, to helping us raise funds that support our youth programs and much, much more.
