Join us on Saturday, July 5th for something special at RIVERFEST with Fireworks sponsored by Travelers. Free off-site parking and shuttle buses run a loop from Charter Oak Landing to Mortensen Riverfront Plaza on the Hartford side, connecting all 4 venues. Boaters are also encouraged to join us on the river.

Food Vending Opportunities:
Riverfront Recapture programs a variety of concerts, festivals, and sporting events that include food vending. All food and beverage vendors are required to complete an application and receive approval from Riverfront Recapture. To receive an application, send your inquiry to vending@riverfront.org.

Riverfest 101
Riverfest celebrates its 28th year in 2008. The festivities and fireworks are brought to you by Riverfront Recapture, a private, non-profit organization which is leading the effort to reconnect metropolitan Hartford with the Connecticut River and provide community access to the waterfront through four beautiful parks in Hartford and East Hartford. Riverfest is made possible through the generosity of corporate funding and private contributions, and would not be possible without the municipal support of the City of Hartford and the Town of East Hartford.

Riverside FAQ
Parking & Shuttle Buses
East Hartford- There will be NO shuttle buses. Parking is available citywide.
Hartford- Mortensen Riverfront Plaza: Morgan Street & Constitution Plaza Garage and other area parking garages. Charter Oak Landing: Local Streets & the Shuttle Bus Parking Lot found on Huyshope Ave.
Hartford Shuttle: The Shuttle will go from the lot on Huyshope Ave. to Charter Oak Landing to Mortensen Riverfront Plaza and back to the shuttle lot. Map coming soon.
Handicap Parking and Accessibility
All festival sites are handicapped accessible. Handicap parking can be found in designated areas in East Hartford and Charter Oak Landing and at the Constitution Plaza Garage for Mortensen Riverfront Plaza.
Entertainment
A schedule of events for each site is posted under each site listing.
Kids Activities
FREE kids activity tents can be found at Mortensen Riverfront Plaza and Charter Oak Landing on the Hartford side and at The Family Fun Zone in Great River Park on the East Hartford side.
Alcohol Policy
Riverfest is a family friendly environment and is ALCOHOL FREE.
Boaters
Boaters are welcome to join us on the River. Riverside Park’s boat launch will be open, but launches at Charter Oak Landing and Great River Park will be closed. This year, the fireworks will launch from barges on the River, so the Coast Guard and local Marine Patrols will be on the River to guide and direct you to designated areas.
