Alert Message - Docks have not been installed due to river conditions. We do not recommend launching your boat from Riverside Park or Great River Park.   Learn More

Dock installation has been prohibited due to the late spring flood start and prolonged high water period since then. The river has to be at elevation 6 or lower for us to remove the accumulated silt and install the docks. We recognize that this is atypical of most years, and thank boaters in advance for their cooperation. We will continue to monitor the river levels to determine when it is possible to install the docks and allow boaters to launch from them safely. Until then, we do not recommend launching, and doing so is at your own risk.

50 Reserve Road, Hartford

Just south of downtown, this Riverfront park features a dock for excursion boat service as well as a public boat launch. Spend some time fishing in the Connecticut River. Take a walk along one of our paved and lighted river walks, or pack up a basket and enjoy a family outing in picnic areas complete with tables, a children’s playground and public restrooms. The parking is free; the beauty is priceless.

Charter Oak Landing is open to vehicle traffic from sunrise to sunset, 365 days a year with later hours during concert, performance and festival events.

Charter Oak Landing has plenty of free, off-street parking available within the park.

Port-o-let facilities are typically available in the parks May through November (availability based on weather and park activity) and during all Riverfront Recapture events.

Food & Beverage

Food and beverages are for sale during most Riverfront Recapture events. On non-event days, food can be purchased at one of the many area restaurants just a short drive from the Park. Information about local restaurants can be found here.
