In addition to corporate grants and sponsorships, our Community Rowing Program relies on direct donations and rower fundraising to purchase equipment that is critical to the success of our program. In 2005 our members raised funds for a truck to tow our trailer, beginning a tradition of yearly giving that has since raised over $800,000 (see year by year tally below).

Donate

There are many ways you can donate:

  • Online: Make a donation online using our secure webform. As an option, you may choose to give monthly or quarterly right on the form.
  • Mail: You can mail a check to Riverfront Recapture, 50 Columbus Boulevard, 1st Floor, Hartford, CT, 06106. Please write “Rowing” in the memo field.
  • You can respond to targeted solicitations during the year

Please remember to take advantage of Corporate Matching Gifts that may be available for your donations of money and/or volunteer time.

Sponsorship

Our youth rowing program attracts sponsors who appreciate the unique blend of urban and suburban youth who participate. Sponsorships support students in public schools in Hartford and East Hartford (including Capital Preparatory Magnet School, Classical Magnet School, East Hartford High School and Connecticut International Baccalaureate Academy), covering their program fees and encouraging their participation in a sport better known in private prep schools. If you are intrigued by this opportunity and wish to help support this well-run program, contact Deborah Baker via email or call 860.713.3131 ext. 326 to discuss the possibilities.

Fundraising
Our rowers have also raised funds for 11 years by participating in row-a-thons and for the last two years have sought donations for our Run Row or Erg for the Riverfront 5k
