College Coaches Youth Summer Rowing Camp
College rowing coaches teach high school-aged students in a fun and supportive atmosphere. The camp is open to both beginning and experienced students, and it takes place in Hartford’s historic Riverside Park.

Beginners learn how to row or cox and receive an introduction to all aspects of the sport. Experienced rowers and coxswains improve their understanding and command of an effective stroke and how to efficiently move the boat. Students are taught in a one coach per 9 student ratio.

Our day-camp focuses on coxxing and sweep rowing, with the possibility for interested experienced rowers to use pairs, doubles or training singles (weather and numbers permitting). Campers stretch and row in the morning, have a post-row discussion where coaches point out key elements of the morning’s row, and break for lunch and recovery time. After lunch, coaches give a presentation and students row and have their post-row discussion. Presentations include: college admissions, nutrition/off water training, and improving one’s erg score. Video analysis of campers rowing in the boat is also part of the program.

Experienced coxswains can attend for half price.
Camp open to grades 8-12.
All campers receive lunch and a
t-shirt.
